Our client has an immediate opening in our Baltimore office for an attorney with at least 3+ years' experience in Labor and Employment Law representing management. Qualified candidates must be barred in MD. They are looking for candidates that have substantial experience representing employers in a wide range of employment matters.Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice to employers on employment laws, regulations, and compliance issues.Handle employment related litigation, discrimination claims, wrongful termination, compliance issues, management labor issues, affirmative action obligations, draft affirmative action plans, wage and hour matters, OSHA/MOSH actions, Title VII matters, and related federal, state, and local employment matters.Represent client employment interests in federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration proceedings.Advise clients on labor relations matters, including occasional union negotiations and labor disputes.Have working knowledge of NLRB rules and regulations.The ideal candidate's focus will be Labor and Employment.Requirements
10+ years' experience primarily in the private sector. Public sector employment law is completely different and not of much use to us.Barred in MD, other jurisdictions a plus such as DC, VA, PA.Non equity principal or counsel. Someone that is partner level or has recently been passed over for partnership may be a good focus.Portable book of business ($75K+).Experienced with defense work, handling the employer side and not plaintiff work. If they started in plaintiff work and converted to employer/defense work that is ok.
