The Materials Manager position will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop, plan and implement procurement and inventory control strategies.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing departments to manage supply needs.
Negotiate with vendors to achieve business objectives.
Track, measure and analyze vendor and supplier performance to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, price, continuity and delivery.
Supervise stock room and verify inventory levels to ensure on time deliveries.
Manage inventory cycle count process and physical inventory.
Supervise shipping and receiving duties as they relate to both incoming and outgoing materials and finished goods.
Identify opportunities for improvement, determine root cause and corrective/preventive action needed.
Ensure that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all department functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Competencies:
Strong leader with management experience.
Strong communication skills required (verbal, written and interpersonal)
Excellent negotiation, organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
Positive self-starter that promotes a team environment.
Ability to manage purchasing, stockroom, shipping and receiving departments.
Required education and experience:
Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment as a Material Manager or related experience.
Experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions.
Experience in Logistics (incoming material and outgoing international shipments)
Working knowledge of ERP systems.
10 years of experience in materials procurement, planning and management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience in a high dollar/low volume manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
