Job DescriptionThe role is responsible for leading the design, development, and “go to market” strategy for the Low Voltage Controllers product category for the business. This role is responsible for achieving product sales year on year growth targets.Key Performance Indicators OutputsBuild and drive a clear and cohesive product strategyLead the development and strategy review process for Low Voltage ControlsTranslate key customer needs and market trends into clear product requirementsBuild out a clear and actionable technology roadmap for low voltage controlsCommunicate product activities and progress of the product strategy to managementAlign stakeholders around the vision for the product(s)Develop long term roadmaps for product developments and define the sales potential and investment requiredIdentify core product capabilities can be utilized to grow sales, especially in novel waysEffective management of product requirements and the product development pipelineDetermine product requirement processes for the low voltage controls productsDetermine profitability processes for their product segmentClearly define, track and update product requirements for low voltage control product development programsDevelop marketing plans for low voltage control product development programsTranslate product vision and strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teamsWork closely with product development teams to provide application information and context for product requirementsProvide final sign-off on product specificationsPrioritize product features and capabilitiesTrack project milestones, provide escalation if need beProvide oversight and guidance on VA/VE programsSupport organizational and operations activitiesWith input from market managers and sales, define need production footprint (locations, country of origin, etc)Define end-of-line plans for products and product linesProvide existing and new product forecasts for capacity planningUse market and benchmark information to help drive understanding of competitive cost levelsEnhance sales activity and drive effective customer engagement for low voltage controlsListen to and understand key needs and value drivers of the customers to influence the product strategyAct as a subject matter expert for products and capabilitiesGather voice of customer on new product development programs and interpret customer feedback into actionable intelligenceSupport sales engagement with key product features, benefits and specificationsWork with sales to identify fit of products to their marketsAccurate and timeous reportingRegular reporting on growth pipeline as it relates to low voltage controlsTracking and reporting the sales that result from investments made in low voltage controls segmentsProvide top level overviews of low voltage controls projects and their status and outcomesAdditional Job DetailsESSENTIALAble to collect, filter and define key sets of capabilities that allow a product platform to be successful across multiple marketsCan clearly define the requirements and profitability of productsAble to build a clear, purposeful product and platform roadmap based on input from market leads, sales, etcAble to act as a subject matter expert when communicating with internal and external stakeholders and customersAbility to manage the expectations of all relevant stakeholdersActively drives new product development for their platform to ensure targets are achievedClear understanding of development cost, opportunity costs and ROI when managing product portfolio.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.8 years relevant experience
