Provide advice and assistance to the business units related to legal matters, with a focus on Bethpage’s lending business.Conduct research, write memos, answer questions, and provide oversight and/or review of various credit union business matters, with an emphasis on support related to Bethpage’s nationwide mortgage, consumer lending, and/or other credit-related initiatives, including ancillary products or services related thereto.Generate and/or proofread memos, presentations, and legal correspondence, including those involving consumer complaints; Board governance; regulatory changes; employee training, etc.Assist with drafting, and periodic review of, legal documents including, but not limited to contracts, agreements, policies and procedures, letters, and other related legal instruments. Oversee contract requests submitted and confirm review by in-house or outside attorneys.Assist with the review of Bethpage internal and external communications.Assist with, and participate in, projects and training initiated and/or conducted by the Legal and Compliance Department.Provide support and assistance related to litigation and other adversarial proceedings; subpoenas; discovery demands and other suits and actions involving Bethpage; draft and prepare pleadings and other related litigation documents; appear in small claims and district court as necessary.Provide support and assistance related to Bethpage’s GRC System within the Legal Department, and/or related ERM programs.Licenses:

Licensed to practice law in New York (within 6 months of hire)Computer Skills:
