Insurance Defense Trial Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly experienced and motivated Insurance Defense Trial Attorney to join its team in Bethpage, NY. The successful candidate will handle complex lawsuits, engage with clients, and conduct various legal proceedings. This role requires extensive litigation and trial experience, excellent knowledge of relevant laws, and legal case management systems proficiency.Duties:Analyze complex lawsuits referred from Claims and prepare necessary answers and responsive pleadings.Interface and develop a rapport with clients, claim customers, and the office team.Conduct depositions and attend court conferences, arbitrations, motions, and trials.Participate as a trial and appellate attorney in significant exposure and complexity matters.Provide legal research, advice, and direction to Claims on cases of significant exposure and complexity.Work independently to make decisions regarding file handling, communicate those decisions appropriately, and keep the Legal Management Team apprised.Maintain minimum billing requirements.Requirements:10 years of relevant litigation and trial experience encompassing liability and damages verdicts.Fully licensed to practice law in New York State and admitted to Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts.Ability to handle a large caseload of high indemnity matters, including reporting requirements, roundtables, and a moderate to significant amount of trial work.Comprehensive knowledge of motor vehicles, premises, UM/SUM, and subrogation claims.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in New York State.Admitted to Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.Skills:Excellent knowledge of rules of evidence and civil procedure.Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Automobile Litigation, UM/SUM, and Premise Liability Insurance Law.Proficiency with computer software, including the current Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Teams, and MS Outlook, and the ability to adapt to new programs.Adept at working in a paperless environment and skilled in video conferencing.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Legal Case Management Program experience (LexisNexis/TM) is a plus.Ability to work within an established system while also looking to improve processes and procedures.Flexibility in all work assignments.Job Location:Bethpage, NYCompany infoBCG Attorney Search125 Park Avenue, 25th floorNew YorkNew YorkUnited States 10017Phone :
