The position is responsible for the preparation of P&L reports, accounting entries, reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger, as well as the full-cycle payable process. The Accountant performs month-end closing process and procedures.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Manage full-cycle accounts payable processReview, track, and process invoices, travel advances, and expense reimbursement reportsPrepare accounts payable-related reports, month-end income/expense and balance sheet journal entries, and monthly cost center allocation journal entriesAnalyze and reconciles GL accountsPerform P&L fluctuation analysis for managerial reviewCreate and update written controls and proceduresCollect and prepare tax forms and 1099 processing for vendorsPerform other tasks and duties as required and assigned

Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, preferably in Accounting3 years minimum experience in accounting with strong general accounting skillsKnowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAPCPA preferred, not requiredKnowledge of Great Plains softwareStrong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with strong Excel skillsHighly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiencyExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments and levels of the organizationExperience in Financial Services, particularly broker/dealer
