Full-time work pertaining to the training/education of the West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Response Teams as well as basic officer and cadet academy recruits. Also, full-time work responding to the scenes of major crimes throughout the state of West Virginia for the purpose of scene documentation, evidence collection/preservation, and crime scene reconstruction. Specialized training in blood pattern analysis, shooting reconstruction, and latent print development is preferred. Performs related work as required. In addition to teaching, the applicant is responsible for responding at any time and upon request to crime scenes throughout the state of West Virginia such as (but not limited to) any suspicious death, sexual assault, robbery, and property crime. Expert courtroom testimony will be expected.Training:Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Experience:One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing investigations in law enforcement or related field for a state agency that is relevant to criminal justice.

Substitution:Experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required training.
