Innovative, leading company in the Baltimore-Washington area seeks a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. This individual will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, preparing budgets and forecasts, conducting financial analysis, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the accounting cycle, including general ledger maintenance and month-end close processes.Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP principles.Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate projections and identify areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement.Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance to senior management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and accounting standards, keeping abreast of changes and implementing necessary updates to policies and procedures.Lead and mentor junior members of the accounting team, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to streamline processes, resolve issues, and drive business objectives.Assist with external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA Candidate preferred.Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.Thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls.Proficiency in accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.We look forward to receiving your application for this stellar opportunity!
