A Software Developer will build and enable new products and capabilities in the policy administration system. This role will have the responsibility to develop and implement using the Duck Creek Commercial Lines platform. The candidate will work closely with the architects, delivery, business analysts, QA, and support teams to understand business objectives and design and develop optimal solutions. The candidate will work with APIs, .Net, Duck Creek, SQL, XSLT and whatever other technologies necessary to design and implement solutions. The candidate must have a keen sense of autonomy, ambiguity management, adaptability, favors simplicity, a passion for problem solving, and must be highly collaborative.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement new capabilities, proprietary forms, and related business rules.Develop enhancements both small and large, which can include front-end, back-end, and integration layer development all while adhering to established coding, architectural and security practices.Partner with and assist in oversight of production support development resources to ensure quality of monthly releases.Support new product rollouts and configure system based on the business requirements.Build new or configure existing raters, setup tables, and implement rating algorithms.Maintain, implement, and utilize APIs (REST, SOAP, XML over HTTP) for various use cases such as system integrations and system customizations.Ensure coding standards, procedures, and principles are followed diligently and consistently.Monitor the performance of the application to look for opportunities for optimizationDesign, develop, unit test, support, and document changes, adhering to the development standards.Employ critical and innovative thinking to design and develop efficient and effective solutions.Perform root cause analysis and identify short and long-term solutions for technical and architectural issues.Perform unit and system testing to verify complete scenario coverage of code implementation.Partner with key stakeholders to ensure that all changes are implemented per the specifications.Provide required support during quality assurance and user testing to ensure that the functionality is working as expected.Support ongoing monthly releases, platform, and template upgrade efforts as necessary.Work with the ETL and Data teams to accurately book policies and report externally.Keep abreast of Duck Creek product roadmap and the industry trends.Qualifications
Experience with Commercial Lines, ISO circulars and forms systems configuration is preferred.Experience with modern P&C Policy Administration System (PAS), specifically Duck Creek (Commercial Lines) is preferred.Experience related to Author, Field View and Forms Mapper is preferred.Experience implementing static, dynamic, pencil edit, and iterative forms is desired.Knowledge of Duck Creek Server API, and additional knowledge of various industry known tools, such as searching tools such as Agent Ransack, diffing tools such as Beyond Compare or GIT Diff, and decompilers such as dotPeek.Strong technical skills in Microsoft.Net framework and other technologies including proficiency in C#, SQL Server, Web services/APIs, XSLT, Regex, JavaScript, ExtJS.Deep understanding of data exchange formats and web technologies, including: XML, SOAP, JSON, HTML, CSS, REST, etc.Proficiency in object-oriented programming, database, data structures, algorithms, and Web technologies.Working knowledge of source code control, debugging, performance monitoring, benchmarking, logging and testing tools.Experience with SDLC tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps.Strong debugging & troubleshooting skills. A propensity for clean and efficient code that is reusable when applicable.Highly analytical and structured thinking, with the innate curiosity and creativity to innovate unorthodox solutions to problems.Strong customer orientation, communication, and interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities.Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field.0-3 Years experience in software development
Candidates will be required to work on a hybrid schedule out of our Morristown, NJ office 3 days a week.
