Dr. Dengjun (Kevin) Wang’s group at Auburn University has active projects on the transport, transformation, and remediation of organic contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), pesticides, and non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPLs). The prospective candidate is expected to have strong expertise in contaminant chemistry, analytical skills (GC-MS and HPLC-MS), material characterization (BET, XRD, FT-IR, XPS), and environmental remediation (batch sorption and column transport studies). The selected candidate will have ample opportunities to collaborate with scientists, engineers, consultants, and many others within these funded projects. The selected candidate will help mentor graduates and undergraduates, design and implement lab experiments, conduct analyses of project results, publish manuscripts in scientific journals, present research findings at professional meetings, and prepare proposals for additional extramural funding of the research program.
