Job SummaryPerforming general customer service while building and maintaining relationships with new and current customers via phone, email, and in-person at the sales counter. Communicate with and manage projects as support to outside sales staff, working up quotes, putting together take-offs and estimates using plans, writing sales orders and pick lists, working with operations to coordinate deliveries. Helping general customers and attracting new customers though various sales, marketing, and networking outlets keeping our customer service level at a maximum.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities- Receive inside sales calls, answer email inquiries to the general sales mailbox and help customers at sales counter
- Maintain close-working relationships with customers at all levels, update customer contact info using CRM
- Provide customer service by creating quotations and generating orders for our various product lines
- Working with operations department to get orders picked quickly and coordinate deliveries efficiently
- Assist as contact for walk-in prospective customers
- Will perform job bid takeoffs from plans, quote lists of material and assist outside sales staff
- Assist in managing job logistics- order material for jobs at best value; manage freight and delivery while working with other personnel, contact and update customers regarding material status to ensure prompt and accurate orders
- Works to assist Operations Manager in maintaining efficient inventory levels
- Acquire and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers
- Develop ideas to grow sales and attract new business
- Continually improve product knowledge and be aware of new product lines that could benefit customers
- Must be able to think quickly and problem solve when customers need immediate assistance
- Perform any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet company, department, or individual goals and objectives
Minimum Qualifications- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass the Background Check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
- Must have good driving record/subject to Insurance approval
- Must be Drug Free, employer will conduct random drug screens
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in a physical environment
Education and Experience – Associate degree preferred but not mandatory. Typically 3+ years experience in waterworks/wet utilities field
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of Waterworks material and ability to read plans and perform Wet Utility job takeoffs
- Strong Computer Skills- emphasis on MS Excel and Planswift
- Strong Communication skills with positive attitude
- Experience using inventory management software and CRM
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Sales Development skills
- Demonstrated success providing excellent customer service
