Job Overview:Chamberlain Advisors is currently conducting an executive search for a Staff Accountant for their direct client. As a key partner to the Chief Financial Officer, the Staff Accountant will assist in preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit & loss, and related financial activities. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting expertise, gathering accounting information into the accounting system, month-end close procedures, supporting leadership with audits, maintaining general ledger activity, reviewing banking transactions, and financial statement analyses and preparation. This position will perform general accounting functions and will work closely with the CFO to ensure appropriate and consistent financial reporting and controls across all of the client’s operations. You must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of accountant and should enjoy a fast-paced environment. This role reports to the CFO.

What You Will Be Accountable For Accomplishing:Review and maintain general ledger activity; reconcile general ledger accounts.Full life-cycle accounting for Accounts Payable & Account Receivable (AP/AR), Month-End Close Procedures, PTO & Payroll Accruals, Posting Journal Entries, Financial Statement Analyses & Preparation, and supporting the Accounting Function with Audits.Analyzing project profitability and providing management-level economic and financial reporting.Project Accounting: tracking labor, expenses, and other details at the project level.Assist and support the CFO as it relates to monthly / quarterly / annual month-end close tasks.Support to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.Assist with various accounting projects for a fast-growing company such as ERP system integrations, compliance, accounting policies, audit requests, documenting procedures, internal controls, and automate manual processes where possible.Assist with business licensing and State Sales Tax compliance.Provide requested documents for financial statement, internal, regulatory, or third-party audits.M&A integration work and ad-hoc requests as necessary.

What You Will Need:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field / equivalent experience.At least 3 - 4 years of advancing experience is required.Previous Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable experience.Knowledge and complete comprehension of full cycle accounting processes.Robust understanding of financial statements, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation.Strong knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles.Proficiency in analytics related to acquisitions, including financial integration and consolidated reporting.Intermediate to Advanced level in Excel and Microsoft Office programs.Extensive experience with Sage Intacct and project accounting.Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.Flexibility in handling multiple tasks, prioritize to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality results.Excel in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing multiple projects concurrently and independently.Agile, adaptable, flexible, and thrives in a dynamic and changing culture environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.Confidentiality and integrity regarding sensitive client, company, and personnel matters.
