Additionally, Moffitt is proud to have earned the prestigious Magnet designation in recognition of its nursing excellence.SummaryMolecular Oncology Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr. Jiandong ChenThe research interest of the lab is to study the structures, regulation, and therapeutic targeting of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway for cancer treatment. Ongoing work involves the development of novel PROTACs, targeting of temperature-sensitive mutant p53, transcription potential of mutant p53, and MDMX regulation of Wnt signaling. Link to publications from Dr. Chen’s lab:The lab has significant expertise and provides mentorship in the areas of p53/MDM2/MDMX phosphorylation signaling, ubiquitination, transcriptional regulation, and drug discovery using biochemical/cellular assays and mouse tumor models.Extensive collaborations with chemists and structural biologists working in drug discovery, providing a rich environment for training and career development.Moffitt integrates excellent patient care with cutting-edge clinical and basic research.Outstanding mentorship from expert faculty with wide-ranging funded research programs including T32 Training Grants.You will be encouraged and supported to apply for training grants.The Ideal Candidate:Strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology.Experience with mouse tumor xenograft models or genetically modified mouse models.Experience in the analysis of novel drug activity and mechanisms.Competent in cell culture, protein analysis, CRISPR, and recombinant DNA techniques.Recent PhD graduate in biochemistry or molecular biology.Responsibilities:Plans and performs experiments directed towards answering specific scientific questions with limited supervision under the general guidance of the Investigator.Interacts closely with the Investigator and other researchers within the Investigator laboratory and conducts relevant background research including literature searches and reviews.Credentials and Qualifications:MD or PhD in biochemistry or molecular biology is required.Should have at least one first author publication.Moffitt Postdocs are provided with Medical Insurance (Moffitt covers premium for team members) effective upon start date and eligible for Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, Retirement, Parental Leave, and more.
