Demonstrated knowledge of inquiry-based science instruction is also required. Academic or professional experience in gifted education is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills and flexibility are required.ResponsibilitiesThe Lower School science teacher will provide whole-class and small-group inquiry-based science instruction in a lab setting (science lab is shared with the Intermediate School). The teacher will collaborate with grade-level teachers to deliver developmentally appropriate science curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse group of advanced learners. The teacher will also participate in curricular reviews, professional development, and curriculum design to support student needs. Responsibilities also include participation in faculty, department, and grade-level meetings, supervision of students during on- and off-campus activities, and other duties as assigned.

This position is full-time.

SCDS offers a very competitive salary and benefits package. Salary range is $65,000 to $124,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and long-term disability, an excellent retirement plan, and a section 125 plan.
