We encourage everyone who is interested in this position to apply.QualificationsThe successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in the sciences, with a background in physics and mathematics. A master’s degree in the content area is preferred. At least three years of middle or high school teaching experience is required. The candidate must have experience implementing integrated, lab-based science curriculum through inquiry-based teaching and creative problem-solving. Background experience in gifted education is ideal.ResponsibilitiesThis full-time position is ideal for a dynamic and knowledgeable teacher with experience designing and implementing a middle-school science curriculum. The teacher will be a member of SCDS’s Middle School division, teaching grade 6 and science electives, as well as preparing students for SCDS’s annual Engineering Event. The teacher will work closely with other teachers and content-area specialists. Responsibilities include an advisory period, participation in faculty, department, and grade-level meetings, and supervision of students on off-campus school activities, including overnight trips.This position is full-time.SCDS offers a very competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, an excellent retirement plan, and a section 125 plan. Salary range is $62,000-$122,000.
