Permanent (75%) and Temp (25%) Other Conditions: Position to begin approximately February 1, 2025, pending position clearance and availability of funds. Position may serve as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics; however, appointment as chair is dependent upon dean approval and continuation is contingent upon satisfactory performance. Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the development of principles and processes to guide the strengthening of academic pediatrics in the areas of faculty recruitment, faculty development, competency-based medical education, premedical, undergraduate medical education, and graduation medical education program evaluation, research, and operations. Participate in strategic planning and implementation with the JABSOM dean and designees relevant to the strengthening of the department of pediatrics and collaboration with Hawai‘i Pacific Health and other JABSOM clinical affiliates. Continue to build pediatric research programs, including quality improvement, patient safety, and patient outcomes research, clinical, translational research, and clinical service programs designed to strengthen the innovative delivery of health care. Assist with the maintenance of accreditation standards set by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for pediatrics and pediatric subspecialty education. Develop appropriate reporting mechanisms regarding mission alignment and progress in developing academic pediatrics faculty and programs. Engage in the training of medical students, residents, and faculty. May serve as Department Chair for Pediatrics. Serve as a role model and mentor to all faculty in the department. Serve as an ambassador for the department, interfacing with community and related organizations, and nurturing collaborative partnerships. Serve on JABSOM and University committees. Render appropriate service to lay or professional communities. Conduct research as applicable. Other scholarly duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

MD degree or equivalent from an accredited medical school. Maintaining certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and/or American Board of Medical Specialties. Eligible for or currently holds a Hawai‘i Medical license. Minimum of four (4) years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent experience. Proven ability to teach medical students, residents, or fellows. Evidence of excellent patient care in a collaborative environment. Evidence of effective research and scholarly activity. Experience in academic and/or clinical program administration. Evidence of excellent team building and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience functioning in a complex system of multiple organizations and stakeholders. Familiarity with LCME and ACGME requirements. Desirable Qualifications

Departmental or division leadership experience in an academic medical center. Managerial experience in healthcare administration. Experience in building a comprehensive quality agenda. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor faculty. Development of innovative medical education courses or curricula. To Apply:
