Other Conditions : First review of applications to begin October 2024. Position to begin approximately November 2024, pending position clearance and availability of funds, annually renewable subject to performance and availability of funds. Increase in FTE contingent upon departmental need and availability of funds.

Duties: Initiate/participate in clinical neurology research projects pertinent to the activities of the Department of Medicine, and The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). Movement disorders specialist involved in the clinical education program at QMC, caring for medical patients. Teaching medical students, residents, post-graduate medical residents on neurology electives. Other scholarly duties as assigned, such as lectures and mentoring. Minimum Qualifications

Associate Professor

M.D. or equivalent medical degree from a medical school of recognized standing. Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and/or American Board of Medical Specialties in Neurology. Four (4) years at the rank of Assistant Professor, or four years of other medical experience OR a total of four (4) years of teaching in the rank of Assistant Professor and other medical experience, or one year at the rank of Associate Professor at another medical school of recognized standing. Proven ability in teaching, research, and program administration. Recognition for having made a significant scholarly contribution to Neurology. Ability to serve as a role model for students and junior colleagues. Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others. Full Professor

Same as Associate plus Four (4) years in the rank of Associate Professor, or ten (10) years of other health care experience, or a total of ten (10) years of teaching in the rank of Associate Professor and other health care experience, or one (1) year in the rank of Professor at another health care school of recognized standing; Recognition for having made a major contribution to the clinical specialty. Demonstrated capacity for leadership in the clinical department and health care profession. Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with curriculum development and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to obtain and manage extramural funding. Evidence of effective research, scholarly activity, or clinical administration. Basic Life Support and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. Eligibility for clinical privileges at The Queen’s Health Systems.
