It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Summary of the Job:The mammography technologist is responsible for the independent operation of x-ray equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients, general anatomy and physiology,and to record and present images to be reviewed by the Radiologist. They perform a variety of technical procedures in the scope of their position which may include screening and diagnostic mammograms, to include 2D and 3D (tomosynthesis), dexa scans, galactograms, needle localizations, mammogram-guided biopsies and stereotactic biopsy procedures. Minimum Qualifications:Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Mammography, and; Licensed by State of Louisiana in Radiologic Technology, and Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Must maintain compliance with the CE and exams performed requirements of their certifying organization.Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages; Must possess strong guest relations skills as excellent communication/social skills are specifically required for the mammography technologist position; Must be able to maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times; Must be self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.Preferred Qualifications: Prefer experience in mammography; EPIC experience is a plus. Physical Demands:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
