Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Superintendent; the Director of Human Resources shall be in charge of the Payroll and Human Resources Department and the legal requirements associated with human resources management and payroll; shall oversee all human resources and payroll activities of the District; shall promote positive staff morale; shall use appropriate professional procedures for communicating personal/professional and payroll concerns. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for staff recruitment and works in concert with administrators and supervisors on the evaluation of personnel and the maintenance of personnel records and procedures. The Director of Human Resources operates within the framework of District policies adopted by the Board of Trustees; the State Department of Education; the California Education Code and all other applicable state and federal laws.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility in an administrative, supervisory or management capacity in an educational setting and/or public sector human resources setting. Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, supplemented by five (5) years of related human resources experience; employer/employee relation duties, preferably in a school district or large organization Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for all or part of these requirements.
