We have an opening for a

Tax Manager

in our Dayton office. The Tax Manager will possess solid technical skills, can formulate recommendations and implement solutions to technical issues. They can learn new skills quickly and effectively, sharing technical depth with others to build the firm's technical expertise. The Tax Manager works with Directors and Senior Managers to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements to help clients minimize tax liabilities.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements.Help to manage and monitor preparation and review of complex S Corporation, C Corporation, partnership, multistate and individual tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations.Lead client meetings, communicating effectively and professionally.Manage the workflow, including proper delegation to staff according to their experience, and coordination with senior managers and partners on all phases of the engagement.Review the tax working papers and determine that the engagement has been performed in accordance with professional standards and the terms of the engagement letter.Conduct tax research to develop innovative solutions for our clients.Participate in and actively seeks training to maintain current technical knowledge.Contribute to overall office efficiency by providing feedback on staff performance, participating in initiatives for on-going staff development, and team culture through informal social and professional events.Requirements

Must be CPA certified and have an active CPA license.Bachelor's degree in accounting required, master's degree preferred.4+ years of tax experience in public accounting.Prior management experience, preferably at a local, regional, or national CPA firm.Experience in Individual, Corporate, S-Corp, and Partnership returns.Experience in multistate tax returns.Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledgeable in Federal and Income Tax Laws and principles, individual and business taxation.Working proficiency in CCH Axcess, CCH Fixed Assets, CaseWare Working Papers, and SurePrep.ASC 740 experience is preferred, but not mandatory.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.Passion for developing a responsible, knowledgeable, and trained team of staff.
