Description

This is a part-time position, onsite in Everett. The starting pay rate is $23.66 an hour. All part-time employees receive accrued sick time, anniversary appreciation day and other museum perks!

Position Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for creating a community of supporters for activities and the development of the volunteer program for Imagine Children's Museum. This role is responsible for overseeing all volunteer activities including screening, orienting and placing Volunteers in different roles based on their qualifications and maintaining accurate Volunteer records.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Develop, promote and grow a wide range of positive volunteer opportunities within the organization.Conduct and arrange volunteer orientation to the Museum, updating as necessary to meet the needs of volunteers and the organization.Ensure volunteers are staffed to support all areas of Museum operations. This includes working with directors and managers of these departments to assess needs.Manage the volunteer database.Track volunteer hours and manage award programs.Actively seek new schools, businesses and organizations to volunteer and partner with Imagine Children's Museum and creates an on-going healthy relationship with these groups.Skilled with building positive relationships and connections with a diverse population of volunteers including youth, professional partners, seniors and donors.Create an atmosphere of volunteer appreciation and support.Create and manage expectations of volunteers.Schedule all volunteer activities and develop work party plans.Plan, schedule and facilitate the quarterly volunteer meeting.Assess volunteer feedback.Responsible for special projects and events that are volunteer based.May have access to private and sensitive information that requires high level of confidentiality.Discusses progress and performance of volunteers with department heads and provides feedback to VP of Operations.Availability to be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and special events as scheduled based on volunteer needs.Requirements

Position Requirements:

Scheduling flexibility essential to meet needs of volunteer groups and volunteer orientations.Proven ability as an organized and motivated employee.Intermediate computer and database management skills.Must work productively and independently in an unstructured environment.Demonstrated leadership experience working with youth and adults.Energy and ability to perform a number of physical tasks each day.Displays outstanding customer service in fast-paced setting and act quickly in a challenging situation.Exhibits ability to initiate and follow-through on projects independently.High level of professionalism.Education and/or Experience:

High School DiplomaAA or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 1 year customer service experience preferredExperience leading diverse teams preferredSupervisory Experience:
