Purpose of PositionReporting to the Executive Director of the Kentucky Center for Mathematics ( KCM ), the Director position is a vital member of the
KCM
team, responsible for developing, administering, planning, directing, and implementing new and existing professional learning experiences for pre-service and in-service mathematics educators across the state of Kentucky. This position will primarily focus on the areas of program management, grant facilitation, and financial oversight. This person will serve as a liaison between the
KCM
and both the Kentucky Department of Education and the Council on Post-secondary Education. This position will also provide supervision for
KCM
staff members,
KCM
Regional Consultants, and outside consultants.
Primary Responsibilities1. Responsible for strategic planning, operational and financial oversight for KCM's state-wide professional learning programs for elementary, intermediate grades, middle grades, and instructional coaching. Serves as a
KCM
expert on mathematics pedagogy, content, and professional learning for instructional coaching, elementary, intermediate grades, and middle grades. Supports and implements other
KCM
professional learning experiences as needed. Visits all RCs, on-site, during selected professional learning experiences and school visits. Uses observations coupled with other qualitative and quantitative data to inform and develop
KCM
programming. Provides leadership, direction, and supervision for
KCM
Regional Consultants (RCs) who have MOAs with educational institutions across the state. Oversees the work of
KCM
RCs as they provide professional learning and support that impacts more than 3,000 Kentucky teachers.2. Co-faciitates grants and serves as principal investigator, provides budget, programmatic oversight, and
IRB
compliance. This will be a focus for this position. Collaborates in the design, implementation, and analysis of program evaluation; obtains approval from the
IRB
(Institutional Review Board); ensures proper fielding of approved measures to gather evidence of the effectiveness of KCM's programs; works with researchers to provide annual evaluation reports of program activities, effectiveness, and needs for improvement. Coordinates the dissemination of the evaluation outcomes with various stakeholders.3. Responsible for oversight of
KCM
staff work in the coordination of logistics for promotion, registration, delivery, and ongoing support for
KCM
professional learning events in elementary, middle, high, coaching, post-secondary, and adult education.4. Responsible for oversight of all aspects of
KCM
cost center and grants. Keeps detailed records of all revenue and expenses associated with the center and grants. Proficient user of NKU's
SAP
system to ensure accuracy with all financial transactions.5. Assists the
KCM
Executive Director in presenting to and advising stakeholders across Kentucky, fostering collaborative relationships with entities such as the Kentucky Department of Education, the Council on Postsecondary Education, and Kentucky Adult Education. Works to implement the
KCM
Strategic Plan.6. Other responsibilities as assigned by
KCM
Executive Director.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree (minimum). Master's Degree (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years business/finance/logistics/operations experience. Understanding and proficiency with
SAP
(preferred).
Proficient in use Microsoft Excel/Word and Google Docs/Sheets.
Competent office management, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary.
