The University of Alaska Fairbanks is accepting applications from qualified applicants for openings as a Police Officer with the UAF Police Department.
University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Officers are responsible for the safety and security of campus students, faculty, and staff. As a UAF police officer, you will be expected to address traffic violations, conduct criminal investigations, and participate in community events. You will be expected to be knowledgeable about Alaska traffic laws, criminal statutes, and UAF policies and procedures. You will be expected to maintain the high standards of the UAF Police Department.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or GED. Applicant must be 21 years of age or older, be a US citizen, possess (or be eligible for) a valid Alaska Driver's License, and have no felony convictions.
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements of Alaska Police Standards Council regulations under 13 AAC 85.010.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, AK. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and
full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the
UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 79 or 80, based on education and experience.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until a successful candidate is identified. Preference will be given to applicants with prior law enforcement experience.

Confirm eligibility (US citizen, 21 years of age, no felony convictions, valid Alaska Drivers License, or the ability to obtain one prior to start date).
Current or previous law enforcement experience (attendance at basic public safety training academy not required per APSC) will be reviewed at the department level; or Testing completed via Public Safety Testing.
Pass physical fitness requirements.
Interview/oral boards. Priority will be given to applicants with prior law enforcement experience.
