The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is committed to ensuring that Florida's consumers receive essential services — electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater — safely and reliably.Description of Job Duties:The Senior Attorney will work in the Economic Regulation Section or the Regulatory Analysis Section of the Office of General Counsel. Responsibilities include handling legal work concerning ratemaking, certification, and various utility issues. The Senior Attorney will primarily appear before the Florida Public Service Commission and must possess strong knowledge of the Florida Administrative Procedures Act, the Uniform Rules of Procedure, Florida Civil Procedure, and the Florida Evidence Code.Key responsibilities include evaluating issues, conducting complex legal research, presenting evidence, advocating positions orally and in writing, and guiding less senior attorneys. Flexible work schedule options may be available.Minimum Qualifications:Admission to The Florida Bar and two years of professional experience in law, legal research, or related fields.Background investigations, including criminal history checks, will be conducted on all recommended applicants.Federal law requires verification of identity and employment eligibility for all hires.
