Renders legal advice and counsel to the Department. Keeps abreast of current state and federal court rulings to advise on needed changes in applicable education laws and rules.Contracts:

Assists with the review of contracts, agreements, amendments, and other contractual documents related to the Division.Rules:

Drafts rules and regulations, conducts conferences, workshops, and public hearings.Legislative:

Attends meetings of legislative committees considering proposed legislation of interest to the Division.Litigation:

Handles cases in state and federal courts as well as administrative proceedings.Legal Opinions and Research:

Researches and prepares legal opinions arising from the Office's activities.Outside Counsel:
