A law firm in Melville, NY is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney with strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.Responsibilities:

Conduct legal research and analysis on workers' compensation laws and regulations.Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs related to workers' compensation claims.Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board.Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients and advise them on their rights and options under workers' compensation laws.Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and client matters.Maintain communication with clients to provide updates and counsel throughout the claims process.Analyze and evaluate workers' compensation claims to determine legal merit and strategy.Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and settlement agreements.Attend hearings, mediations, and negotiations to advocate for clients' interests.Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document requests.Assist in preparing cases for trial, including witness preparation and trial strategy.Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admitted to practice law in the state of New York, with a focus or interest in workers' compensation law.1-3 years of experience in workers' compensation or related field preferred; recent graduates with relevant coursework or internships will be considered.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Education and Certifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school.Admission to the New York State Bar.Skills:

Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively.Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
