Tax Associate Attorney or Of Counsel

A law firm based in Knoxville is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney or Of Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building the existing tax practice, with significant client interaction and the opportunity to transition into a leadership position in the long term. Ideal applicants will possess strong academic credentials, exceptional writing, and analytical abilities, and hold a Juris Doctorate or higher degree in Law. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estate planning.Duties:Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to tax planning, estate planning, and wealth management.Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases and advise on complex tax issues.Draft legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to develop comprehensive tax strategies for clients.Handle negotiations, settlements, and litigation proceedings related to tax disputes and estate matters.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide informed guidance to clients.Requirements:Juris Doctorate or higher degree in Law from an accredited institution.Admission to the State Bar and in good standing with relevant jurisdictions.Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing in the field of estate planning, tax law, or related areas.Proven track record of success in handling complex tax matters and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and persuasively.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Skills:Proficiency in legal research tools and software.Exceptional writing and drafting skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
