Cancer Center InfusionFull TimeJob SummaryUnder general supervision of the Infusion Center patient care leadership and guided by the procedures of UCSF Health System, Ambulatory Services and the Cancer Center, the Infusion Services Nurse Manager assists the team of Patient Care Managers and Director in ensuring the quality of patient care in the Adult Infusion Services across Mt. Zion and Mission Bay campuses and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. This position is responsible for all aspects of the operation, including but not limited to:Recruiting, selecting, hiring and training staff, coaching and counseling, and completion of performance evaluations.Assuring compliance with all regulatory and patient safety goals.Developing and implementing policies and procedures that assure a high level of quality care.Financial and budgetary aspects of the department, including revenue capture and expense control.Supporting performance improvement initiatives.Maintaining close working relationship with outpatient infusion pharmacy services to ensure alignment of goals that meet patient safety and service standards.This position is responsible for supervising all clinical and clerical staff of the infusion center, facilitating positive interaction among staff, patients, and other departments. This position assumes full responsibility for the unit in the areas delegated and in the absence of other Patient Care Managers. The Infusion Center Nurse Manager is clinically competent at the CNIII level.Department DescriptionThe Adult Infusion Centers at Mt. Zion and Mission Bay service the Medical Oncology population at UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center as well as any non-oncology infusion needs of patients at UCSF. The treatments include but are not limited to chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hydration and electrolyte therapy, injections and blood draws, enzymes and iron infusions, and antibiotics. The centers collectively consist of over 100 chairs/beds and treatments include research and standard of care infusions. The infusion centers are staffed by Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, and Practice Coordinators. The scope of this role includes oversight of the Weill Neurosciences Infusion Center.Required QualificationsMinimum five (5) years nursing experience with demonstrated leadership experience.Experience working as RN in cancer services.Five (5) years' managerial experience in an acute care or outpatient setting.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.Strong clinic/center patient care management skills.Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making.Strong leadership, fiscal and operations management skills.Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare and clinic operations.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic/center healthcare industry.Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.High level of initiative and ability to work independently.Preferred QualificationsONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card.Master's Degree.Training in quality improvement or Lean methodology.Experience in large academic medical center setting.Experience with QA/The Joint Commission process for quality improvement.License/CertificationActive Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.About UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what's possible for the patients we serve - a promise we share with the professionals who make up our team.
