We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for solving real world problems to join the Watts Digital team. In this role, you will be working in an agile environment to design, code, debug, test and deploy key features and functionality across the entire digital product stack. You will collaborate with the Product and Design team to build intuitive and innovative features that bring direct value to end users. You will directly contribute to a culture of excellence in Watts Digital’s growing software engineering organization and be a pivotal member in enhancing our engineering standards and processes.
You Will:
Deliver and maintain testable, high-quality code.
Contribute to technical architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions within the team.
Ensure that the systems we develop and maintain result in highly scalable, feature-rich solutions that minimize support costs and provide an outstanding customer experience.
Communicate technology decisions and outcomes to key stakeholders (e.g., sponsors, ecosystem partners, product teams).
Develop and maintain solution architecture diagrams and documentation.
Implement modern technologies including open-source and third-party tools to increase efficiency and improve technology and product offerings.
Deliver features and functionality through all stages of the development process, including analysis, architecture/design, and implementation.
Work closely with other Engineers, Quality Assurance, DevOps, and 3rd party vendors to successfully deliver and deploy solutions to production.
Advocate a continuous improvement mindset regarding our development process, focusing on how we can automate regular, high-quality releases in an agile environment.
Champion a culture of learning, measurement, accountability, and quality via code reviews, paired programming, and other collaboration opportunities within the team.
Collaborate with Product Owners on the backlog and provide high-level effort estimation to plan feature prioritization more accurately.
Collaborate with Design on mock-ups and wireframes to provide valuable feedback that leads to an improved customer experience.
Partner with hardware BUs to understand their needs and deliver platform-oriented solutions.
Continue to evolve security practices and controls to meet the needs of protecting customer data and systems.
Partner with IT and operations in support of enterprise IT strategy and standards.
Ensure we are building necessary observability into our systems that provide transparency across the entire stack.
Assist Customer Success and Operations team in triaging and resolving production issues.
You Have:
5+ years in software engineering delivering across the entire SDLC.
5+ years working with Cloud Native technologies, preferably in Azure.
5+ years working with C# .NET (or similar languages).
3+ years working with JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue or React.
Demonstrated hands-on experience architecting, designing, building, testing and deploying features and products that are used by customers.
Experience with API and system design.
Experience working with Docker or other containerization technologies.
Experience collaborating with designers and product managers to come up with high-impact ways of quickly solving users’ problems.
Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
Attention to detail, especially around performance, accessibility, reliability, and security.
Designing and developing microservice-based architectures and data engineering pipelines.
Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Code analysis tools.
Experience with software engineering practices (e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc.).
Familiarity with Hardware and Network engineering is a bonus.
