Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk maintains and processes accounts payable transactions. Records payments for vendor invoices and other debts owed by the company. Verifies amounts owed and received and ensures that transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Prepares reports of delinquent accounts and responds to customer/vendor inquiries.

Responsibilities:Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.Maintaining a database, ensuring that records are complete and current.Recording information, processing, and filing forms.Preparing checks and financial reports upon request.Updating ledgers, researching, and resolving discrepancies.Abiding by all company procedures and accounting principles.Responding appropriately to vendor, customer, and internal requests.Assisting senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel to take part.Matching work orders to invoices.Processing invoices/bills so that they can be paid.Requirements:High School diploma is required, more education and experience preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.High level of accuracy and efficiency.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Courteous, professional manner, strong customer service skills.Computer literacy and experience with accounting software.Attention to detail.Willingness to comply with all company, local, state, and federal financial regulations.Experience:Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)Accounts Receivable: 1 year (Required)EEO Commitment:GLS US is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and is committed to a diverse workforce.
