As a Sr. Power Market Analyst, you will be responsible for leading data analysis projects and driving insights that impact business decisions. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in statistical analysis and data modeling and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify trends and patterns in data.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Collect, process and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends and insights.Develop, implement and maintain statistical models and algorithms to optimize trading strategies.Collaborate with traders and other teams to identify trading opportunities and risks.Design and maintain data visualization tools to communicate trading insights to stakeholders.Continuously improve existing models and develop new models using machine learning and other advanced analytical techniques.Conduct electrical power transmission system/congestion analysis and price forecasting.Identify opportunities for speculative CRR/FTR and DAM virtual trades.Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in data science and bring innovative solutions to the team.Provide transmission risk POV to groups such as ERCOT Power Trading, Origination and Development.Comply with all FERC, ISO and Vistra's policies while performing all activities.Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
5-7 years of professional experience in data analysis or a related field with a focus in power market.Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.Ability to process large amounts of information to synthesize it into actionable commercial decisions.Excellent quantitative skills, with attention to detail.Proficiency in Python, R or SAS, and experience with databases and SQL.Fundamental knowledge of US power markets.Prior Experience with production cost simulation software is a plus.Knowledge of Power System, Economic Dispatch or Option Pricing Theory is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent.Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable.A bachelor's degree or advanced degree may count towards relevant industrial experience.Key Metrics
