SUMMARYThe Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions are validated, reconciled, and recorded in the general ledger. The position will prepare monthly finance data (i.e., balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports) as a part of the monthly close process.ESSENTIAL DUTIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Employees must spend over 50% of their time on these duties.Processes journal entries, account reconciliation and analysis, and supports the accounting close process.Prepares monthly financial data, including assets, liabilities, and payroll, and organizes balance sheet entries to the general ledger as a part of the monthly closing process.Reconciles accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.Participates in internal and external audits. Coordinates documents for external audits and assists the Accounting Manager in running internal audits.Identifies and reports the need to implement accounting and accounting control procedures in compliance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance; upon approval, establishes, modifies, and coordinates necessary procedural changes.Supports the preparation of government filings and tax-related documentation.Prepares and monitors complex financial records and reports.Maintains complex accounting records in compliance with State and Federal regulations and guidelines.Collaborates with different departments to track and analyze revenues, expenses, billed amounts, payments received, payroll labor distributions, cost allocations, accruals to contract/grant budgets to ensure compliance and adherence to budgets and cost containment.ADDITIONAL DUTIESMentor accounting clerk position.Other duties and special projects assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Accounting required.2+ years of experience in Accounting required.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSValid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.Position may require some travel.Ability to handle confidential information.Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Free from alcohol and drug abuse.Understands CII’s basic philosophy and participates fully in carrying out its mission.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCertified Professional Accountant preferred.CONTINGENCIES:Must be fully vaccinated to comply with the California Department of Public Health (CPHD) order issued on August 5, 2021.BENEFITS:Generous paid PTO, plus nine paid holidays and CII is closed between Christmas and New Year's.Free basic HMO Medical, Dental, and Vision.Eligible employees receive a 5% retirement contribution.Up to $4,500 in tuition reimbursement annually.Eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.Flexible Spending Account (FSA).Life and AD&D Insurance.Voluntary Supplemental Insurance.Opportunity for growth & advancement.Professional development & continued training.Team building & bonding through company sponsored events & activities.COMPENSATION:The salary for this role is: $66,910.In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
