Financial Analyst/Grant Accountant

The Financial Analyst will assist in managing the fiscal components of department/program contracts at the agency. This position will support financial decision-making, conduct financial & data analysis, perform financial modeling and reporting, ensure accurate financial forecasts, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and provide insight for agency management. Act as a liaison to CII program management and government funding agencies to meet contract fiscal and compliance requirements.
DUTIES
Summary
The Financial Analyst will assist in managing the fiscal components of department/program contracts at the agency. This position will support financial decision-making, conduct financial & data analysis, perform financial modeling and reporting, ensure accurate financial forecasts, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and provide insight for agency management. Act as a liaison to CII program management and government funding agencies to meet contract fiscal and compliance requirements.

Manages government and foundation grants/contracts and budgets ranging between $1M-$15M, and prepares accurate and timely financial reports and provides key insights to management for decision-making purposes.Assists in developing financial budgets, forecasts, and models to support strategic planning and resource allocation considering historical performance and future growth projections.Monitors actual financial performance by conducting in-depth financial analysis explaining and providing insights, including variance & trend analysis and financial performance assessments to support business recommendations.Collaborates with program management to support the development or revision of program budgets, refunding applications throughout the year.Tracks, monitors, compares, and analyzes revenues, expenses, amounts billed, payments received, payroll labor distributions, cost allocations, revenue, and expense accruals to contract/grant budgets to ensure compliance and adherence to budgets and cost containment.Analyzes program costs and manages invoices to program funders.Provides support with cost optimization and efficiency improvement analysis activities.Additional Duties

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required.2+ years of finance experience. Non-profit experience is a plus.Advanced financial modeling & analytical skills.Experience creating forecasts and providing recommendations to upper management.Familiarity with federal government contracts.Other Qualifications

$73,601.00 USD - $84,641.00 USDIn accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law.Benefits
