Vice President of Operations

Remote (Northeast, Southeast and Midwest Regions) with travel up to 75%.

Job Summary

This role will report to the KAP President and will be responsible to provide strategic and operational guidance to KAP Platform agency leadership. The Vice President will partner with Agency leadership to create multi-year strategic business plans for operational excellence to strengthen KAP’s value proposition as a strategic partner for independent insurance agencies. In addition, this role will lead strategic companywide initiatives to improve delivery, support the scaled growth of the organization and deliver cost and operating efficiencies for agencies across KAP.

Job ResponsibilitiesHas a comprehensive and in-depth view of all platform agencies both operationally and financially.Serve as a thought partner, guiding agency leaders to create innovative and achievable growth plans.Lead operational analysis for improvement opportunities throughout the M&A process.Partner with KAP and agency leadership to develop platform agency strategies and plans.Ensure all post-close integration business processes and operational activities are executed and capture post-transaction synergies.Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.Provide access and insight into KAP and Keystone services and offerings that support delivery on financial and operational targets.Ensure agency leadership has the resources, functional expertise, and processes to meet the annual budgetary requirements and strategic objectives.Evaluate progress against plan in tandem with KAP leadership to provide support and guidance to agency leaders.Assist in the development of capacity and staffing models/plans to enhance the efficiency of the agency’s daily operations.Engage and collaborate in the development of a comprehensive technology/technology stack solution, while possessing knowledge of widely used technology products within the insurance brokerage space.Oversee agency management systems and training, which includes managing vendor relationships and leveraging resources.Tackle unforeseen issues and troubleshoot for optimal resolution.Partner on continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process improvements and developing tools and resources to improve the experience and outcomes.Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.

Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree15+ years of business experience10+ years Insurance Agency or Brokerage experienceExperience with mergers and acquisitions and other organizational change.

Preferred QualificationsMBA or advanced degreeLed an independent insurance agency with proven track record of growth.Has owned or operated an agency preferably of $25M or more, or has been a leader in growing an agency to >$25M.Transaction experience in M&A or Post-Merger integration.Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles.Strong consultative skills, including relationship building, process skills, and facilitation skills.Proven strategic planning and budgeting experience.Experience building and scaling teams and systems.Possess analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail.Embody an entrepreneurial spirit.Familiar with analyzing financial statements to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities.Experience working with AMS or EPIC.Experience developing producer goals and business plans to chart path to realization.One or more of the following insurance certifications: ARM, CIC, CPCU, CPRM, CWCA, AAI, CISR.Experience managing and working with virtual teams.
