Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator for NJMS - Graduate Medical Education. The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator position is to assist in the development and implementation of all activities related to the residency programs in the Department of Neurosurgery and Department of Neurology. The incumbent is also responsible for the development and coordination of post-graduate education in the departments. Overall, the Program Coordinator is expected to perform a range of analytical duties with an appropriately rich skill set to work independently in a multi-task environment focused on supporting and facilitating the training and clinical requirements of resident education and documentation in a University setting.Key Duties

As directed, implements and coordinates the operation of the Residency Education Office in conformity with standards of documentation and management as required by institutional, regional, and national oversight bodies (e.g., GME, AMA, ACGME/RRC, ABNS, CMS, NRMP, ERAS). Takes the appropriate action to ensure full compliance while demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the standards and the consequences of incomplete compliance.Works under the supervision of the NJMS GME Office for all internal and external compliance and documentation requirements. Gathers, interprets, and formulates GME data to meet all program deadlines.Leads the day-to-day planning and coordination of recruitment, credential verification, and resident documentation in consultation with the Program Directors of the Neurosurgery and Neurology Residency Programs.Prepares/processes Resident and Fellowship verification forms/letters, contracts, evaluations, semi-annual evaluation files, surveys, certifications, and NJ permit packages.Creates and maintains files in the New Innovations database.Develops and maintains database systems to ensure the accuracy of electronic residency records as determined by the Program Directors of Neurosurgery and Neurology and the GME Office.Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related discipline, plus one (1) year of related experience in a business office, government agency or university setting required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Highly proficient computer skills are required to include general productivity applications, as well as proprietary systems as required by Rutgers, the GME Office, and accreditation organizations.Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a Graduate Medical Education Office and Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification or eligibility preferred.Position Information
