Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintains standards of care for the operative patient, adhering to AORN standards and recommendations.
Prepares the patient environment by stocking rooms and cleaning equipment as assigned.
Anticipates surgeon and anesthesia needs using preference cards, collecting and assembling necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of proper handling of supplies and equipment necessary for surgical procedures.
Assists with patient positioning, preparation, and follows AORN guidelines for surgical hand scrubs, surgical counts, and Time Out procedures.
Identifies and mitigates potential and actual safety hazards.
Adheres to universal precautions and infection control techniques.
Required Skills and Experience:
License: NBSTSA or NCCT certification, or LPN license
Minimum education: must be a graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology program, and eligible for certification
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Day shift, option between 5x8s, 4x10s, and 3x12s. Call is on a rotating schedule with a 30 min response time required.
Physical Requirements:
Repetitive use of hands and fingers; frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range Disclosure:
$30.00 to $39.28 per hour
