The ideal candidate will possess expertise in patent prosecution and counseling, with a preference for familiarity in licensing and agreement work. A superior academic record, excellent communication skills, and a strong focus on life sciences, particularly biotech, are required. Experience in pharma/biotech and a small amount of portable business are desirable.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage global patent prosecution efforts, specializing in life sciences and biotech.Provide expert legal advice on patent-related matters, including strategy, prosecution, and opinions.Handle patent licensing and agreement negotiations, ensuring compliance and protecting client interests.Develop and nurture client relationships, delivering strategic counsel on intellectual property issues.Draft, review, and refine patent applications, responses, and legal opinions with precision and attention to detail.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists and business development professionals, to address client needs.Stay abreast of advancements in patent law and life sciences to offer informed and effective legal strategies.Mentor and support junior attorneys and staff in intellectual property matters.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) required.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a strong background in life sciences and biotech.Demonstrated expertise in global patent prosecution and counseling.Familiarity with patent licensing and agreement work is preferred.Superior academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.Skills:In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution and opinion work, particularly in the life sciences and biotech fields.Strong understanding of patent licensing and agreement processes.Exceptional writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Experience in building and maintaining client relationships.Proficiency in working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Preferred Experience:Experience in pharma/biotech sectors is highly desirable.A small amount of portable business is a plus but not required.
