A law firm in Princeton, NJ, is seeking a highly experienced Intellectual Property Income Partner with a robust background in global patent prosecution and opinion work, particularly in the field of life sciences. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in patent prosecution and counseling, and preferably have familiarity with licensing and agreement work. This role requires a superior academic record, excellent communication skills, and strong life sciences expertise, particularly in biotech and pharma.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage global patent prosecution efforts, focusing on life sciences and biotech sectors.Provide expert legal counsel on patent-related matters, including prosecution, strategy, and opinions.Oversee patent licensing and agreement negotiations, ensuring compliance and protecting client interests.Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic advice on intellectual property issues.Draft and review patent applications, responses, and legal opinions with high attention to detail.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists and business development professionals, to support client needs.Stay current with developments in patent law and life sciences to provide informed advice and strategy.Mentor and guide junior attorneys and staff in intellectual property matters.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) required.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Must be licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey.Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a strong focus on life sciences and biotech.Demonstrated experience in global patent prosecution and counseling.Familiarity with patent licensing and agreement work preferred.Proven ability to handle complex patent issues and provide strategic guidance.Strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills.Skills:Expertise in patent prosecution and opinion work, particularly in life sciences and biotech.Strong understanding of patent licensing and agreement negotiations.Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with client management and relationship building.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Preferred Experience:Background in pharma/biotech sectors is highly desirable.Portable business is a plus, though not required.
