A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Income Partner with extensive expertise in global patent prosecution and opinion work within the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent prosecution and counseling, including experience with licensing and agreement work. A superior academic record, exceptional writing and oral communication skills, and a focus on life sciences, particularly biotech, are essential. Experience in pharma/biotech and a small amount of portable business are advantageous.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage global patent prosecution efforts, focusing on life sciences and biotech industries.Provide expert legal advice on patent matters, including the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.Offer strategic opinions on complex patent issues to ensure comprehensive intellectual property protection for clients.Oversee patent licensing and agreement negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal standards and securing favorable terms.Develop and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored legal strategies and solutions for intellectual property issues.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including scientists and business professionals, to effectively address client needs.Stay abreast of developments in patent law and life sciences to provide innovative and informed legal counsel.Mentor and guide junior attorneys and support staff in intellectual property law and practice.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) required.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia.Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a strong background in life sciences and biotech.Proven expertise in global patent prosecution and counseling.Familiarity with patent licensing and agreement work is preferred.Superior academic record with excellent written and oral communication skills.Skills:Extensive knowledge of patent prosecution and opinion work, particularly within life sciences and biotech.Strong understanding of patent licensing and agreement processes.Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex legal concepts.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proven capability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships.Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
