A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking an accomplished Intellectual Property Income Partner with extensive experience in global patent prosecution and opinion work within the life sciences sector. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of patent prosecution, counseling, and preferably licensing and agreement work. The role demands a superior academic background, excellent communication skills, and a strong focus on life sciences, particularly biotech. Experience in pharma/biotech and a small amount of portable business is desirable.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage global patent prosecution efforts, focusing on life sciences, especially biotech.Provide expert legal counsel on patent-related matters, including strategy, prosecution, and opinions.Oversee and negotiate patent licensing agreements, ensuring favorable terms and compliance.Develop and maintain client relationships, offering strategic advice on intellectual property issues.Draft and review patent applications, responses, and legal opinions with precision and attention to detail.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists and business development professionals, to address client needs.Stay updated on legal developments and trends in patent law and life sciences to provide informed advice.Mentor and guide junior attorneys and support staff on intellectual property matters.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) required.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Massachusetts.At least 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a strong emphasis on life sciences and biotech.Proven experience in global patent prosecution and counseling.Familiarity with patent licensing and agreement negotiations preferred.Strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills.Skills:Expertise in patent prosecution and opinion work in the life sciences and biotech fields.In-depth knowledge of patent licensing and agreement processes.Superior writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities efficiently.Experience in building and maintaining client relationships.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Preferred Experience:Background in pharma/biotech sectors is highly desirable.A small amount of portable business is a plus but not required.
