Job Description SummaryAs a Land Development Director working for Taylor Morrison you will be responsible for overall management of projects, including supervision and oversight, plan and report preparation, entitlements and permitting, preparation and monitoring of budgets and schedules, and maintaining positive client and staff relationships. You will also provide technical reviews, develop quality assurance and quality control procedures for projects, demonstrate planning skills, design and construction schedule, and development of cost estimating and project budgets.Job DetailsWe trust that as a Land Development Director you will: (responsibilities)Be the primary point of contact for all activities related to master planned community developmentEffectively and efficiently coordinate the development of company-owned property to achieve business plans and financial objectivesCreate land development budgets, monitor work and actively track invoicesUnderstand all components of the development processes and timing/sequencing of all phases of those processesRead contracts and advise on suggested course of actionSecure the company's ability to deliver lots on time with conditions of development beneficial to the companyPlay an integral role in the planning process for the jurisdictions in which the company operates, anticipating all possible requirements needed to secure building permitsUnderstand design-related components necessary to satisfy jurisdictional requirementsYou are willing to perform other duties as assignedWhat you will need: (competencies, behaviors & attributes)Business AcumenCustomer FocusDeveloping Direct Reports and OthersDrive for ResultsPriority SettingSelf-KnowledgeAbout you:4+ years of progressive experience in Land working for a homebuilder requiredBachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or Planning highly preferredExperience managing other employees requiredAbility to anticipate possible obstacles and propose favorable solutionsConcise writing and public speaking/presentation skillsAction and results orientedFLSA Status: ExemptWill have responsibilities such as:Interviewing, selecting, and training employeesSetting rates of pay and hours of workAppraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employeesDetermining work techniquesPlanning the workApportioning work among employeesDetermining the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or materials neededPlanning budgets for workMonitoring work for legal or regulatory complianceProviding for safety and security of the workplaceEssential Functions:Successful job applicants will be able to perform these functions.
