Job Summary/BasicFunction:The purpose of this position is to raise private funding for Boise StateUniversity through individual, corporate, and foundation contributions.The position is responsible for the identification, cultivation,solicitation and stewardship of prospective and current major giftdonors to Boise State University. This position will be assigned toAthletics.Department Overview:A nonprofit Idaho organization, the Boise State University Foundationwas established in 1964 for the benefit of Boise State University. Wework to secure philanthropic support for the university by developingand nurturing relationships with our alumni and friends and stewardinggifts made to support Boise State. The Foundation works closely withuniversity leadership, the Boise State University Alumni Association,and the Bronco Athletic Association.Mission: To build a greater Boise State University, we providefundraising leadership and service across the university and partnerwith donors and alumni to inspire private support.Core Values:Purpose DrivenRelentless ExcellenceResponsibleLevel Scope:Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and putit into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional fieldwith limited oversight from managers. Influences othersregarding policies, practices and procedures.Essential Functions:95% of the time the Director of Development must:Prepare and implement strategies to attain the College/Unit\'sannual and campaign development plans. Work with Collegeadministrators, faculty, staff, and designees to identify and definepriority needs to be funded through external support.Plans and implements strategies for donor cultivation, solicitationand stewardship. Raises major gifts through pledges, outright giftsor deferred gifts.Researches and cultivates donors to match the needs of theCollege/Unit with interests of prospective donors. Coordinates andcooperates with the Dean of the college on prospect identification,cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.Assigns priority to development activities over more programmaticactivities.Serves as the main liaison between University Advancement and unitleadership and faculty.Manages relationships with a portfolio of prospective donors withresponsibility for qualification, cultivation, solicitation andstewardship.Monitors and records prospect contacts to ensure positive andpurposeful prospect.Implement, coordinate, and execute an effective and efficient donorrelations event and activities strategy.Administration of member benefits and fulfillment, includesmaintaining communication with groups.Increase fund giving through review of benefits and improved donorcorrespondence.Be the main fundraising point of contact for at least 2 sportprograms.Travel with football and other teams when deemed necessary.5% of the time the Director of Development must:Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Demonstrated ability to raise major gifts.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, bot orally andwritten.Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of ateam.Demonstrated ability to manage prospects from identification throughstewardship.Must be willing to travel.Must be organized and demonstrate the ability to work underpressure.Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.Ability to manage prospects from identification through stewardship.Ability to articulate and meet goals/objectives.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Ability to think through complicated processes and have exceptionalproblem-solving skills.MinimumQualifications:Bachelor\'s Degree and 5 years\' experience or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications:Degree in development area/fundraising.Experience working in higher education, especially athletics.Salary and Benefits:Salary range starts at \$80,000 annually and is commensurate withexperience.
