www.ucihealth.org.Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:Chief Quality Officer, Vice President in partnership with the leader of Patient Safety and Quality is responsible for the overall strategy, leadership, and operational management of the inpatient and ambulatory quality, safety programs of UCI Health. Evaluates the quality of patient care, safety, and clinical outcomes. Has accountability for understanding, coordinating, and measuring performance of internal and external quality and safety requirements. Oversees the development and implementation of a strategic vision for healthcare quality, ensuring adherence to rigorous regulatory standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Establishes data-driven quality initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, monitoring compliance with healthcare regulations and championing patient advocacy.What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired Qualifications:Skills, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of job dutiesSeven to ten years of increasingly responsible experience in healthcare including at least five years of leadership experience in an academic medical settingMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMD degree with significant practice experience in a board-certified specialtyExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishDemonstrated leadership track record that shows an ability to gain credibility, influence and achieve with and without direct authority, and to work collaboratively with clinical chairs, the medical staff, and the executive teamComprehensive and thorough understanding of all elements of healthcare delivery including strategy, business planning, operations, and financial managementAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to innovate, encourages creative thinking, and imaginative solutions to issues or problemsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to analyze and solve problems by taking into account various points of viewAbility to address both broad and strategic issues and the management of day-to-day operationsAbility to act as an effective agent for change, recognizes the need for change, adapts, and inspires others to adaptConditions of Employment:The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
