Education Law Associate Attorney

A law firm in Albany, NY is seeking an Education Law Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education law, with a focus on transactional employment work, student privacy and discipline, regulatory compliance, special education, policy drafting, labor relations, and litigation/administrative proceedings in the education sector.Duties:Provide advice and counseling to clients on education law matters, including employment issues and student privacy.Represent clients in federal and state regulatory compliance matters.Handle special education processes and proceedings on behalf of clients.Review and draft school policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.Engage in labor relations, bargaining, and grievances resolution for educational institutions.Represent clients in litigation and administrative proceedings related to educational issues.Provide legal support for school-related business transactions and financing matters.Requirements:5+ years of experience in education law.Experience working with a variety of educational institutions, including public, private, charter schools, and higher education.Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.Exceptional attention to detail and a strategic approach to problem-solving.Superior academic credentials, including a law degree from an accredited institution.Admission to the New York State Bar.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the New York State Bar.Skills:In-depth knowledge of education law and regulations.Excellent legal research and writing skills.Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.Effective communication and presentation skills.
