Job DescriptionAs the

General Manager

for our signature restaurant Kō, you will be responsible for curating a superior guest experience through effective leadership, planning and directing of all restaurant activities while delivering top line revenue, colleague engagement, guest satisfaction and fiscal results. Your passion for all things Food & Beverage will lead you to provide the highest quality of service and hospitality, placing Kō on the map as ‘the hottest place in town’.Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000What you will be doing:Work in partnership with the Kō Executive Chef to execute the smooth and flawless operation of the front and back of house.Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements and building relationships with preferred guests.Actively manage restaurant social media accounts and online reputation in partnership with the Executive Chef and Marketing/PR Manager.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks; participating in Hawaii community programs.Consistently drive innovation to be the ‘Hottest Place in Town’ by actively promoting your restaurant within the community.Establish restaurant business plans by surveying demand; conferring with community members; identifying and evaluating competitors; preparing financial, marketing and sales projections.Meet financial objectives by preparing strategic and monthly forecasts; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.Develop and implement strategies to increase average check.Control purchases and inventory by meeting with account managers; negotiating prices.Create and maintain partnerships with preferred suppliers.Accomplish human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training to ensure colleagues are set up for success.Maintain operation by preparing policies and standard operating procedures aligned with hotel policies.Ensure all brand standards and programs are in place and maintained.Collaborate with other departments to contribute to the overall smooth operation of the hotel.Work with the Restaurant Chef and Lead Mixologist to create and maintain all restaurant menus.Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.Share Kō story and history of the islands with guests.Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of our restaurant exceeds expectations.

QualificationsYour experience and skills include:Effective communication skills, both verbally and written, with all levels of colleagues in a friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.Service-oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority.Basic computational ability.Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email functions.Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent or vocational training.ExperienceFour years work experience leading food & beverage operations.Experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar or lounge.Experience with Silverware point of sale system is an asset.Experience monitoring company social media platforms is an asset.Licenses or CertificatesTB Clearance.Maui County Liquor Card.ServSafe Certification.
