Intimate Partner ViolenceThe goal of IPV is to establish a comprehensive response to intimate partner violence that offers meaningful and sustainable help to families that is safe, respectful, culturally relevant and responsive to the unique strengths and concerns of the family. This service provides a supportive service array of assessments, interventions and linkages to services to address the needs of families impacted by intimate partner violence.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:Very supportive environment offering weekly and as needed additional supervision, consultations with our model developer, and monthly collaboration meetings as a team.Free evidenced based trainings in Fathers for Change and Mothers and More curriculums (Yale developed models), as well as Circle of Security.An opportunity to acquire transferrable skills through training and work with families that have experienced violence and trauma. Our approach is to work with both the victim and the person who inflicted harm, in a strength based and clinical way, facilitating a greater opportunity for impact and change.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides support to families and connect them to needed resources in their community (i.e., housing, financial aid, food, shelter, parenting supports)Advocate for the needs of the family to all parties involved.Assess, provide and/or link to transportation.Attend meetings with family members.Participates in trainings and meetings and regularly attends supervision.Identifies culturally appropriate resources for families within their communities.Outreach efforts to facilitate referrals through the system of care, promote family involvement and promote other family initiatives.Provides services to families specifically related to Intimate Partner Violence (i.e.: ongoing in-home safety planning, assessments of impact of IPV on children, and working collaboratively with DCF and local agencies to relocate/find housing for family members affected by IPV.)Additional responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

BA in human services required.Experience:

At least three (3) years experience working with families and knowledgeable about community resources and services preferred. Experience in advocacy work on behalf of children and families preferred. Experience with Intimate Partner Violence preferred.Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Valid current driver’s license and must own vehicle to drive regularly to home visits. Demonstrated understanding of the Wraparound process preferred.Training:

Participate in agency required training and additional training recommended by supervisor.**Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply**COMPENSATION RANGE:$18.86/hr min, and up commensurate upon experience.*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives.
