GeneralThis is a position at J.J. Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.

PurposeRCRL is seeking a carbonate sedimentologist/stratigrapher who specializes in subsurface characterization in addition to outcrop and modern analogue characterization using state-of-the-science remote sensing techniques and traditional field mapping.

Responsibilities

Perform research in the field of carbonate reservoir characterization using both subsurface data (e.g. seismic, rock cores, well log, etc.) and outcrop and modern analogues.

Visit current and potential sponsors to maintain and increase RCRL funding

Supervise RCRL graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

Present research results at national and international conferences; teach workshops, lead field trips.

Required QualificationsPhD in geosciences.

Preferred QualificationsPhD and at least 5 years of experience in academia or related industry.

Salary$100,000 depending on qualifications
