Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Director on behalf of our client, a nonprofit performing arts organization. This is an exciting direct-hire, on-site position based in

Springfield, MA .

Overview:The Development Director is responsible for planning, managing, and executing the fundraising and development activities of the organization. Working closely with the President, Board of Directors, and staff, the Development Director is the key driver of the organization's efforts to generate revenue in support of its programs and mission. The Director's responsibilities encompass major gifts, individual and corporate annual funds, sponsorships, planned giving, government and foundation grants, and special events.

Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and execute all development activities, including the creation and management of collateral materials, such as cases for support and sponsorship materials.Develop and implement the annual fund strategy, focusing on major donors, and set fundraising goals.Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors and corporate sponsors.Develop personalized engagement strategies, sponsorship packages, and negotiate agreements.Maintain strong relationships with donors and sponsors, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.Oversee and maintain accurate donor records and databases with the Development Associate.Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all development activities.Develop and manage the department budget, collaborating with the Finance Director on projections, expenses, and income.Drive strategic and tactical planning to achieve revenue goals.Support board fundraising efforts and provide leadership in establishing best practices and effective fundraising systems.Supervise and motivate the development committee members and volunteers.Provide guidance and leadership in executing fundraising initiatives.Represent the organization at community events to build relationships.

Qualifications:

Previous proven success in a fundraising/development role with managerial responsibilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Familiarity with donor database management systems.Strong organizational, managerial, and communication skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering rapport with donors, volunteers, and the public, demonstrating diplomacy and discretion.

Compensation & Benefits:This position offers an annual salary of $80,000-$100,000 in addition to a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and more!
