Interim Director of Development and Communications

for a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the education gaps of systemically underserved communities.

This is a full-time, temporary opportunity set to last 1 year based out of Miami, FL that offers a completely remote schedule allowing candidates to work from anywhere on the East Coast.

In this role, the

Interim Director of Development and Communications

will partner with the Executive Director as well as the current Development team to strategize, implement, and monitor various fundraising campaigns specifically targeting individual giving, major giving, annual giving, and planned giving initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and optimize fundraising operations, including donor cycle management and data management.Manage CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.Develop and implement QA processes for data entry and gift processing.Ensure compliance with nonprofit development best practices and regulations.Advise on system improvements to enhance fundraising efficiency.Develop and implement effective stewardship programs for various donor segments.Conduct research to identify and cultivate potential donors.Leverage existing networks to expand donor reach and deepen relationships.Develop and oversee fundraising event planning and execution by building the framework and assigning roles as well as responsibilities accordingly.Collaborate with the Communications team on fundraising-related marketing and communications.Develop and manage content for various communication channels (e.g., newsletters, appeals, social media).Oversee the production of marketing materials and manage vendor relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated nonprofit development experience with success in creating fundraising initiatives specific to individual and major giving.Ability to develop marketing plans with a track record of enhancing overall mission awareness as well as giving goals.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, social media platforms, as well as donor database systems, Salesforce is a plus.Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce documents like stewardship communications, talking points, pitches, reports, reachouts, etc.Desire to work on a mission-driven team, collaborating effectively across multiple time zones and/or regions.Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field is preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:This career opportunity provides a starting hourly pay of $45.00 to $55.00 DOE with room for further career growth over time, plus medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week.
