Navy Yard .Job Summary:The configuration manager in this role will split time around 50 / 50 as an assistant to the Ford Class Aircraft Carrier team Configuration Manager and managing their own projects.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provide support to Ford Class aircraft carrier Configuration Manager in the review of change documentation including slides describing the change in detail, specification changes proposals (SCP), Hull Modification Requests (HMR), and Schedule A and B change requests.Manage your own projects and coordinate the work with multiple engineers. This may include multiple projects at one time with competing schedules.Coordinate with Systems Engineers, Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, and HII-NNS to resolve system configuration matters.Maintain change documentation and change tracking files correct and current.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering with at least 1 year of experience in configuration management.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard electrical systems.Experience working with technical authority.Experience working with program managers in an engineering role.Good technical writing and communication skills.Clearance Requirements:Must possess an active or current Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
